Anthony Joshua has drawn a lesson from Tyson Fury's trilogy with Deontay Wilder ahead of his own fight with Fury. "Wilder took those fights very personally, and that could be quite exhausting," Joshua told The Ring's Mike Coppinger, adding that Wilder "could have gotten the job done if he was a bit more calm, cool, and collected".

Joshua ruled that out for himself: "But I don't believe that would be me. I'm going to keep a calm head." He said he would not take anything personally except wanting to do his job. Fury and Wilder met three times between 2018 and 2021: a split draw was followed by a seventh-round stoppage that won Fury the WBC title and an 11th-round knockout in which Fury had to get up off the canvas himself.

Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) faces Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs) on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, live on Netflix. According to The Ring, both men predicted a stoppage win after a cordial first press conference.
