The main event between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will take place in the early hours. According to Sky Sports, Millennium Stadium plc has applied to Cardiff Council to extend permitted hours for boxing and wrestling on 12 December from 1am to 3am. "This is to facilitate the proposed Anthony Joshua v Tyson Fury bout, with the ringwalk commencing at 1am," a council spokesperson said.

A short live music performance is planned before the ringwalk, the stadium would stay open until 3.30am and the roof will be closed throughout, Sky Sports reported. The application also covers later hours for recorded music, late-night refreshment and alcohol until 3am. Representations can be submitted until 3 November; if no relevant objections are received the council must grant it, otherwise a hearing will be held.

The late slot suits US television audiences; Turki Alalshikh, Dana White and Netflix had originally pushed for Madison Square Garden in New York, according to Sky Sports. Council leader Chris Weaver said major events "provide a welcome boost for local businesses, support jobs and showcase Cardiff to a global audience".
