The winner of Christian Mbilli vs Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on 31 October in Riyadh already has a challenger waiting. "I hope the winner faces me. I'd like my next fight to be a unification," IBF champion Osleys Iglesias said, according to Boxing News.
The 28-year-old Canada-based Cuban claimed his latest win in Quebec on Thursday: previously unbeaten Oliver Zaren was pulled out in the seventh round by his trainer Mikkel Kessler after a sustained beating. Iglesias, trained by Marc Ramsay, is now 16-0 with 15 knockouts; he won the IBF title in April with an eighth-round stoppage of Pavel Silyagin.
Mbilli makes the first defence of his WBC title in Riyadh after being upgraded from interim to full champion. According to Boxing News, both he and Alvarez have been out of the ring for more than a year.
