At least five people have died in flash floods in Syria, according to the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management. Four children drowned in bodies of water in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor provinces, and a man died in western Raqqa province when his car was swept away. Five people, including two children, are missing. Damage was reported in Aleppo, Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Hasakah and Homs.

According to state news agency SANA, the al-Salmani bridge west of Tabqa collapsed and the road between Raqqa and Aleppo is closed. Rescue teams freed 15 people from vehicles trapped by floodwater, and about 375 families were evacuated from three camps near Raqqa. In June, UNICEF had already reported that floods this year had affected 17,000 people.
