The bantamweight title fight between champion Kayla Harrison (19-1) and Amanda Nunes (23-5) at UFC 334 reportedly has a backup: Panama's Joselyne Edwards (18-6) is to step in if either of them drops out. “Joselyne Edwards will be the backup fighter for Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes at UFC 334,” journalist Guilherme Cruz wrote on X. The UFC has not yet officially confirmed this.
According to Sherdog, Edwards has won her last five fights, four of them by stoppage, most recently a unanimous decision over Norma Dumont. She went 4-4 in her first eight UFC appearances.
UFC 334 takes place on November 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York, headlined by Ciryl Gane vs. Josh Hokit. The fight between Harrison and Hall of Famer Nunes, who retired in 2023, was originally scheduled for UFC 324 in January and was postponed after Harrison underwent neck surgery.
