In the Staaken area of Berlin's Spandau district, a 22-year-old man discovered several bullet holes in his car at around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The vehicle had been parked on Obstallee, according to a Berlin police report. No one was injured. Officers seized the car to secure possible evidence.
The investigation has been taken over by the State Criminal Police Office's special unit "Ferrum," which was set up to tackle the rise in gun crime in Berlin. Only on Tuesday evening, several men in Spandau allegedly forced a car off the road into bushes at Falkenseer Platz; one person is said to have fired several shots, and the 29-year-old driver was beaten and kicked. Police arrested four suspects aged 21 to 31 at the time; that case is also being handled by the Ferrum unit.
