Bayern Munich are making progress on a contract extension with striker Harry Kane. "I'm very positive about it," CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen told Sport Bild. "We have had good talks and are currently working on the details." Kane's contract runs until the end of the season. Media have reported a planned extension to 2029, but that has not been officially confirmed.
Kane was awarded the Ballon d'Or in London on Monday. The England international joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for about 95 million euros. "He was worth every euro to us," Dreesen said. Bayern also want to keep Michael Olise, whose contract runs to 2029, for the long term: "We are interested in Michael playing for us for as long as possible."
Dreesen said the club was in good financial shape: "We have the economic power to afford any transfer." But he added: "Just having a big name doesn't help you at all." Bayern host Magdeburg in the second round of the German Cup on Wednesday night and host Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
