Lone'er Kavanagh made a statement with a knockout win at UFC 333. The No. 6-ranked flyweight stopped Ramazan Temirov around 30 seconds before the end of the first round: he ducked under a left hook and countered with a left uppercut, and referee Mike Beltran waved it off at 4:28. It was Temirov's first UFC loss, while Kavanagh is now 4-2 in the promotion.

"We've learned from previous mistakes, one of those is keeping my hands up," Kavanagh said, according to ESPN. And: "Obviously I'm here for that belt." Champion Joshua Van defends against Manel Kape at UFC 336 in January.

Kavanagh and Volkanovski each earned $100,000 for Performance of the Night, Yan and Dvalishvili for Fight of the Night. Finish bonuses of $25,000 went to Kody Steele, Abus Magomedov, Abdul Rakhman Yakhyaev, Dominick Reyes (stoppage of Azamat Murzakanov at 2:40) and Aaron Pico.
