A 44-year-old cyclist who had entered the junction on a green light in the bike lane hit one of the cars and fell, police said. Which vehicle struck him is still under investigation. He suffered bruises and abrasions and was able to leave hospital after outpatient treatment.
The 36-year-old was taken to hospital with bruised ribs and his 31-year-old passenger with head pain. A breath test showed about 1.6 per mille, police said, and he could not produce a valid driving licence. A blood sample was taken. The 24-year-old was unhurt.
