The 21st Festa del Cinema di Roma opened on Tuesday evening at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. It kicked off with Paolo Genovese's 'Il rumore delle cose nuove', an ensemble film about three couples from a Milan neighborhood starring Claudia Pandolfi, Vittoria Puccini and Stefano Accorsi, among others. At the opening, 'Conclave' producer Tessa Ross received the Industry Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by director Edward Berger.

The festival, led by artistic director Paola Malanga, was extended by one day because of the high number of submissions and runs until Oct. 25. According to news agency AGI, it shows 150 films from 55 countries. The lineup includes Jesse Eisenberg's 'The Debut', Peter Farrelly's 'I Play Rocky', Simon Stone's 'Elsinore' and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's new film.

Javier Bardem will receive a lifetime achievement award from Paolo Sorrentino on Oct. 17 at the screening of Rodrigo Sorogoyen's 'El ser querido', according to Sky TG24. Julianne Moore will also receive a lifetime achievement award, presented by Jesse Eisenberg, whose film 'The Debut' screens on Oct. 21.
