The 34th Hamptons International Film Festival on Long Island announced its winners on Tuesday. The jury prize for best narrative feature went to 'La Bola Negra' by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, Spain's entry for the international feature Oscar. The audience award for best narrative feature went to Simon Stone's 'Elsinore', starring Andrew Scott.
Both films had already won at the Toronto International Film Festival: 'La Bola Negra' took the People's Choice Award there and 'Elsinore' the International People's Choice Award. In the Hamptons, 'If Pigeons Turned to Gold' by Pepa Lubojacki was named best documentary, while the documentary audience award went to 'Burgundy' by Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw.
More than 140 films screened in 205 screenings, according to Spark Hamptons. 'Congratulations to this year's award winners, whose films stayed with our audiences long after the credits rolled,' said David Nugent, the festival's chief creative officer.
