Benavidez stays at cruiserweight – Buatsi and Hutchinson to fight for vacant WBC title
The WBC has confirmed Cieślak vs Benavidez at cruiserweight. At light heavyweight, Buatsi vs Hutchinson is now for the vacant WBC title.

The World Boxing Council has reshuffled two divisions. David Benavidez has notified the body that he will continue his career at cruiserweight, while reserving the right to challenge for the WBC light heavyweight title later. The WBC also confirmed the world title fight between WBC cruiserweight champion Michał Cieślak and Benavidez – on 5 December, according to Boxing News.
At light heavyweight, the WBC sanctioned Joshua Buatsi against Willy Hutchinson for the vacant WBC title. The two Britons meet for a second time on 7 November at the AO Arena in Manchester; the bout had previously been billed as an interim title fight.
The WBC will rule on eliminators and mandatory fights in all divisions at its 64th annual convention in Acapulco from 8 to 13 November.
