Nine new Bulgarian films open in the country's cinemas between 24 October and 27 November, according to a round-up by Fakti.bg based on cinema listings and reports by bTV Radio, BTA and Sega. First up is 'Taxi to Paradise' ('Taksi za raya') by Ivan Nichev and Todor Chapkanov, three intertwined stories about Bulgarian emigrants, a funeral parlour and the smuggling of a person across a border.
On 30 October comes 'Topki', Lyubomir Pechev's feature debut about a young woman who takes over as coach of a men's amateur football team. November brings 'Nemigranti', 'Avrora', Atanas Hristoskov's 'Osta na zhivota', the BNT production 'Koledni agenti', 'Na kosam', Milena Andonova's 'Pastir', inspired by the life of Saint John of Rila, and on 27 November the comedy sequel 'Pochivkata 2'.
Two Bulgarian films open on 13 November and three on 20 November. Director Viktor Bozhinov criticised the clustering on Facebook: after months of total absence, nine Bulgarian films are now coming to cinemas within one month – 'This is "suicide"!'
