Eintracht Frankfurt's released sporting director Markus Kroesche will say goodbye to club members in person on Monday evening, speaking at the general meeting in the Jahrhunderthalle. "It is important to me to say goodbye there personally," Kroesche said, according to hessenschau. President Mathias Beck is also expected to be re-elected at the meeting.

The first candidate linked to the vacancy has responded. Joti Chatzialexiou, sporting director of 1. FC Nuremberg, told Bild there were "no agreements whatsoever and no contact" with Eintracht, adding that it was "not an issue I am dealing with at the moment." Media reports also mention Christoph Spycher, Marco Neppe and Benjamin Weber.

Eintracht plans to take several weeks to find a successor. Until then, Axel Hellmann, chief executive since Sunday, is running the sporting department on an interim basis. In his statement, Kroesche said he no longer had the "necessary drive" the job requires.
