Luxury group LVMH opened the sixth edition of its "Journées Particulières" on Friday. Until Sunday, 18 October, 45 houses are opening a total of 71 venues in 13 countries to the public, according to the group – some by reservation, others with free entry. Initially, 65 venues in 11 countries had been announced. The open days have been held since 2011; the last edition took place four years ago. The theme is "At the Source of Dreams", centred on nature, culture and craft.

Shanghai is new this year: in the Zhangyuan district several houses came together for the first time at Maison LVMH, and at the Louis Vuitton Mansion visitors could watch bags being made and trunks being painted. In Paris, Dior opened its workshops at 30 Avenue Montaigne, while Celine is showing its ready-to-wear workshops on Rue Vivienne for the first time. Louis Vuitton is welcoming guests in Asnières and at a shoe factory in Italy, among other sites.

In Rome, Fendi is marking ten years of couture at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana with the exhibition "A Fairy Tale of the Future", which ends with Maria Grazia Chiuri's first couture collection; the tours are fully booked. Loro Piana is opening its knitwear centre in Ghemme in Piedmont, and Loewe its Casa Loewe in Madrid. "We wanted to return to the very origin of the dream," Antoine Arnault, head of image and environment at LVMH, said when the programme was presented.
