1. FC Cologne travel to Eintracht Frankfurt for Friday's game (8:30 p.m. CEST) with major personnel problems. Along with Ellyes Skhiri, Thijs Dallinga, Ache and Hübers, defender Rav van den Berg is out with a muscle injury. Coach Rene Wagner expects a long layoff for Skhiri: "I hope that he will be an option again at the start of next year." He called the absence a "brutal blow." Cologne are winless in 15 Bundesliga away games.
Schalke 04 will be without striker Moussa Sylla for Saturday's home game against Mainz (3:30 p.m. CEST). The 26-year-old injured his left leg after being kicked in the 2-1 loss at Freiburg and is "initially unavailable," the club said. Schalke, in 13th place, have scored only four goals.
Hamburger SV also have concerns ahead of Saturday's home game against VfB Stuttgart: Albert Gronbaek was among those missing from team training after the international break. Coach Merlin Polzin said: "Albert has already made good progress inside the stadium."
