Bulgarian singer Dara, who won Bulgaria's first Eurovision title in May with 'Bangaranga' and 516 points, released her new single 'Bad Idea' on Friday. The song is the first preview of her first fully English-language album, due in 2027. It is out on her label StarShe Global, with digital distribution handled by Orfey Music and Warner Music.
Dara wrote 'Bad Idea' with Victor Thell, Nea and Twan Ray; Thell and Ray also produced the song, which was recorded in Sweden. According to Novini.bg it is an energetic pop song with electronic influences and a fast dance beat, about late-night attraction and warning signs. The video, directed by Cassandra Powell, was produced in Sofia.
'I'm so excited to share Bad Idea,' Dara says, according to Novini.bg, adding that 'Bangaranga' brought her many new listeners. A few days before the release she deleted all posts on her Instagram profile, which Fakti.bg describes as the start of a new phase in her career.
