Chloe Slater released her debut album 'Riot Youth' on 9 October via Stolen Juice licensed to AWAL. The themes are heavy: climate anxiety, capitalist exploitation and political instability. Even so, the tone stays bouncy, playful and hopeful.
'Can I Finish Please' deals with political arguments within the family, while 'Ugly' takes aim at commercialised holidays. On 'I've Never Felt So Hated', Slater looks at her experiences with online trolls. NME's Rhian Daly writes that 'the 23-year-old's knack for writing big, uplifting choruses is showcased in abundance', calling the album proof that her sharp songwriting can take on many forms.
The video is the official music video for 'I've Never Felt So Hated', directed by Bonnie MacRae.
