Vasyl Lomachenko has reversed the retirement he announced in June 2025. On DAZN's broadcast from San Antonio, the two-time Olympic champion and former three-division world champion said he will return at super featherweight (130 pounds). "One day when I woke up, I'm thinking, now I'm 38 years old, and we need to try one more time to be undisputed champion," he said, according to The Ring. "If I'm 40 or 41 years old, then it will be too late."
"I want to fight with the champion, whoever holds the title," Lomachenko said on DAZN. That is now O'Shaquie Foster, who beat Emanuel Navarrete by unanimous decision and holds the WBC, WBO and IBF titles. Lomachenko's last fight was his 11th-round stoppage of George Kambosos Jr. in May 2024, which made him IBF lightweight champion.
No date has been set. According to The Ring, Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) hopes to return before the end of the year, while Boxing News reports plans for 2027. "During the preparation, it looks very good, but nobody knows what will happen after another month or two of preparation," he said, according to Boxing News.
