At Thursday's UFC 333 press conference in Abu Dhabi, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and challenger Movsar Evloev staked out their positions. "I believe I've seen that puzzle before," Volkanovski said, according to The National. Evloev is undefeated and knows how to win, "but I just don't think that's enough." He added: "He doesn't have a loss yet. So, that's something that I want to take from him."
Evloev answered calmly: "I don't have a game plan. I can solve everything." The 32-year-old Russian has, according to AP, won all 20 of his professional fights, ten of them in the UFC – every one by decision. "In my mind I won this fight thousands of times, and mentally I'm ready," he said.
Volkanovski (28-4) is 38. According to The National, a win would give him nine title-fight victories at featherweight, surpassing José Aldo. UFC 333 takes place on Saturday at Etihad Arena.
