ONE Championship has expanded the card for ONE SAMURAI 5 on 18 November at EBARA WAVE Arena Ota in Tokyo. Former strawweight champion Jarred Brooks (USA) returns to the division to face Japan's Tatsumitsu Wada in MMA. The headliner is the previously announced title fight in which champion Joshua Pacio defends his ONE strawweight belt against Keito Yamakita.

Brooks dethroned Pacio at ONE 164 in December 2022 and lost the belt in their 2024 rematch by disqualification for an illegal slam. According to ONE, three defeats followed, including a second-round TKO loss to Pacio in their trilogy. Wada, a former DEEP champion, won a split decision over Seiichiro Ito at ONE SAMURAI 1 in April.

Also new on the card is a heavyweight bout between 23-year-old judoka Ryugo Takeuchi and ONE debutant Brandon Hashimoto (8-2). ONE also announced the kickboxing bouts Reiji vs Rui Botelho (strawweight) and GUMP vs Shuto Inui (bantamweight).
