On 15 October Moncler presented Re/Icons, a collection that reissues pieces from the brand's archive. The campaign stars singer and actor Cher, K-pop artist JENNIE and performer Grace Jones. Photographer and director Gabriel Moses shows each of them in the middle of a crowd. The reference was archive photos of mountaineer Lionel Terray, an early partner of the brand. According to Moncler, the collection is available in selected stores and online.
Cher wears the Himalaya jacket in white and the Verone in black, with a yellow scarf nodding to a Bob Mackie scarf dress from The Cher Show. JENNIE wears the Karakorum in black and the Tibb gilet in caramel, while Grace Jones wears the Karakorum in deep purple, a reference to her work with Jean-Paul Goude. Reports say Re/Icons now includes ready-to-wear for the first time, including titanium-and-leather sunglasses, and a feature film with director Daniele Vicari has been announced.
"Pioneering spirit is just going forward and being tough. Pioneers were tough," Cher is quoted as saying in the release. Grace Jones said pioneering spirit is about challenge. In the campaign film, released by Moncler on October 20, Cher pulls at the yellow scarf, setting the dancers around her into motion.
