Swiss watchmaker Tissot unveiled a special edition for NBA player and brand ambassador Damian Lillard on 21 October, coinciding with the Portland Trail Blazers' season opener against the Phoenix Suns. It is the second PRX made with Lillard, after a 40mm automatic version. The new PRX Skeleton has a stainless steel case measuring 44mm across and 11.2mm thick – according to Monochrome the largest PRX case to date – and is water resistant to 100 metres.
It is powered by a skeletonised hand-wound movement that Monochrome says is based on the ETA Unitas 6497. The openworked dial is burgundy, and the small seconds at 9 o'clock has a gold-coloured hand shaped like Lillard's monogram. His nickname, Dame Time, appears on the case flank and the seconds ring, and his signature on the sapphire caseback. The included rubber strap has a texture inspired by the milk crates Lillard used as improvised hoops as a child.
The set also includes a burgundy leather strap and a leather pouch with a chain: placed inside it, only the dial and bezel remain visible and the watch can be worn as a pocket watch. Figures for the power reserve differ – Tissot's website states up to 52 hours, while trade reports give other values. According to aBlogtoWatch, the watch is available from authorised dealers. A film by the brand presents the collaboration with Lillard.
