Tarja Turunen released the official video for 'Tango', her collaboration with Apocalyptica, on 15 October. The song is taken from her album 'Frisson Noir', released in June via earMUSIC. According to The Rockpit, it is her heaviest album to date; it was mixed by Neal Avron and features guests including Dani Filth, Marko Hietala and Chad Smith.
According to Metal Injection, the video is billed as a 'mini movie'; the site highlights the dramatic, tension-building cellos at the start that give way to a crashing instrumental release. Alongside Tarja, cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso and Paavo Lötjönen appear on camera; No Rush describes dark, cinematic imagery with projections and many close-ups of the instruments. 'Apocalyptica was the perfect artist to work with,' Tarja said, according to The Rockpit.
On 27 November, 'Tango' will be released as a 10-inch vinyl limited to 500 copies worldwide. The B-side features two previously unreleased demos, 'Tää Tango – Piano Demo' and 'Tää Tango – Band Demo', which will not be released digitally. Tarja played live in Osnabrück, Gersthofen and Vienna last week.
