President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday aimed at strengthening federal research into women's health, creating a new women's health division at the National Institutes of Health and a White House task force. The panel will be led by chief of staff Susie Wiles, who recently completed breast cancer treatment, and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

First lady Melania Trump said she shaped the order with physicians, White House officials, Kennedy and the president, calling it "a transformative moment for women in America." Priorities include heart disease, cancer, stroke, Alzheimer's, mental health, endometriosis, infertility, maternal health and menopause, and she called for using "superintelligence" to speed up discoveries.

The order sets no specific funding targets, according to the AP. It also rescinds women's health initiatives of the previous administration, The National News Desk reported, shifting the focus to translating research into improved clinical care.
