Saint Laurent showed its women's collection for summer 2027 on 29 September at the Trocadéro in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower behind the runway. Beneath three towering chandeliers came 49 looks in shades of gold, followed by ten in black – 59 silhouettes in all. There were sahariennes, trench coats, pencil skirts, brocades and evening dresses, pieces from the house's classic vocabulary, including a gold metallic jacket and skirt with an olive-green scarf trailing to the floor.

The colour sequence is a quotation: as Fashion Times reported, citing Vogue, the switch from gold to black reverses the close of Yves Saint Laurent's Fall 1991 Rive Gauche show, which ended in gold. Vogue Runway critic Nicole Phelps closed her review with a line from the poet Robert Frost: "Nothing gold can stay."

The front row included Kate Moss, Hailey Bieber, Zoe Saldaña and Eddie Redmayne. The collection was Anthony Vaccarello's last for the house; Saint Laurent has not yet named a successor. The show can be watched on Saint Laurent's official YouTube channel.
