Dita Von Teese as Snow White: Louboutin stages the Pigalle pump as a theatre piece

Christian Louboutin presented his women's collection for Spring/Summer 2027 during Paris Fashion Week not on a runway but as a one-night stage performance at the Théâtre du Châtelet. Titled “Eternal Youth”, the show told a theatrical story loosely inspired by Snow White. At its centre was burlesque artist Dita Von Teese, who appeared in several roles, including a Snow White figure, and also performed the final number. Cultured magazine called it a rare appearance outside Las Vegas, where Von Teese has held residencies for the past three years.

The real protagonist was the “La Pigalle” pump, introduced in 2004 and reworked in 2026 with more comfort and a new red sole. Special versions were made for the performance, including one with golden feathered wings and the crystal-covered “Macbetha” with a metal cage structure. The archival “Ballerina Ultima” from 2007 also returned. According to Mille World, the corsetry came from Mr. Pearl, a white cape from John Galliano and the millinery from Stephen Jones. The revue was accompanied by an orchestra, a choir and soprano Catherine Trottmann.

Guests included Cynthia Erivo, Jean Paul Gaultier, Heidi Klum and Elizabeth Debicki, according to Cultured. Mille World wrote that the evening played with beauty, ageing and the different selves a woman accumulates over time.
