Berlin police have detained four suspects aged 21 to 31 after shots were fired in the city's Spandau district. According to police, three cars – a BMW, an Audi and a Mercedes – were travelling at high speed toward Falkenseer Platz at around 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
There, the drivers of the Mercedes and the Audi allegedly forced the BMW off the road into bushes, according to initial findings. Several occupants are then said to have got out, and one person allegedly fired a gun several times. Police said the 29-year-old BMW driver was punched and kicked and was treated in hospital.
The suspects were taken into custody, and the vehicles and other evidence were seized. The BAO Ferrum unit of the state criminal police office (LKA) has taken over the investigation. Police gave no initial details on the background or motive; the suspects are presumed innocent.
