Wishy – 'Nature's Pill' review: big feelings, bigger hooks

Indie-Rock/Power-Pop · Winspear · Release 02.10.2026

On album two, the Indianapolis band swap shoegaze rumination for power-pop hooks. NME and Spin are won over, with Spin picking 'Lovesick' as the standout.

Single: Lovesick

Indianapolis band Wishy released their second album 'Nature's Pill' on 2 October via Winspear, following their 2024 debut 'Triple Seven'. NME's Huw Baines hears a more polished step up, with less shoegaze rumination and more power-pop hooks and indie-rock texture: 'the cleanest melodies of their career'. He praises the band's chemistry, especially on 'All The Rage', 'Mona Lisa' and 'Sensational'.

Spin's Michael Tedder hears nods to 1990s alternative rock, Superchunk and Madchester, as well as the 2000s revival of the Strokes and Paramore. For him the best track is Nina Pitchkites's 'Lovesick'. Baines signs off with enthusiasm: 'a record to knock you head over heels'.

The video is the official music video for the single 'Lovesick'.
