Rockstar Games released the official launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI on 15 October. The 90-second video introduces the protagonists Jason and Lucia; Rockstar’s description reads: “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.” According to HotHardware, the focus is mainly on Jason, whose past in the military and special forces led him into Vice City’s criminal underworld. The trailer also shows a bank robbery, aircraft and Lucia calling Jason from prison.
According to Rockstar, the trailer was captured entirely on a PlayStation 5; the studio did not say whether this was a standard PS5 or a PS5 Pro. It is set to new music by the French duo Justice, who also composed the game’s score.
GTA 6 launches on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is Rockstar’s first major new single-player game since Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. A PC version has still not been officially announced.
