'Street Fighter' earned around four million dollars from Thursday night previews in the US, according to Deadline, as reported by Cosmic Book News. Showtimes began at 2 pm, plus a fan event at 7 pm. The North American opening weekend is now expected to come in above 30 million dollars.

For comparison, 'Mortal Kombat II' took 5.2 million dollars from Thursday previews in May before opening with 38.5 million dollars. The first 'Sonic' film (2020) earned three million dollars from previews. Unlike 'Mortal Kombat II', 'Street Fighter' is rated PG-13 in the US, and autumn breaks at many schools could also help.

According to the report, the net production cost of 82 million dollars is split between Legendary and Capcom. On Rotten Tomatoes the film stood at 47 per cent positive reviews at the time of the report. In Germany, 'Street Fighter' has been in cinemas since Thursday.
