Stand Atlantic released their fifth album 'Godbreath' on 23 October – their first on Virgin Music Group. The record has eleven tracks, including the singles 'LUCID', 'NEXT2U' and 'EDGE OF VEGAS'. According to singer and guitarist Bonnie Fraser, 'LUCID' was one of the last songs written for the album: "I'm not going to overthink this, let's go with what self-sabotage feels like", she told Kerrang!.
Kerrang! critic James Hickie gives it four out of five. He describes the album as the singer's journey back to self-love, which gives the record a narrative arc and emotional depth. The band lean towards the upbeat side of pop-punk without sounding derivative, and the polished sound suits the album's fresh outlook.
Besides opener 'LUCID', the review highlights 'SO COOL', 'finger' and 'teeth'. It recommends the record to fans of As It Is, The Wonder Years and Neck Deep. The video is the official music video for 'LUCID'.
