Both picked up thigh injuries at Paderborn, with a tendon also affected in Nadir's case. Poulsen misses out too – coach Polzin refuses to play the victim.

Hamburger SV will be without two more key players for Tuesday's DFB-Pokal tie against Eintracht Frankfurt (18:00 CET). Playmaker Fabio Vieira and new signing Bilal Nadir both suffered thigh muscle injuries in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Paderborn. The club says Vieira will be out for several weeks, while Nadir's injury also involves a tendon, so he is expected to be sidelined for longer.
Yussuf Poulsen will also miss both meetings with Frankfurt – the cup tie on Tuesday and the Bundesliga game on Sunday – with a hip problem. Nicolai Remberg (cruciate ligament tear), Nicolás Capaldo and Jordan Torunarigha remain out, while Patson Daka is expected back in the squad despite lacking training time.
„Beide Jungs sind extrem getroffen und geknickt“ (both lads are extremely hit and dejected), coach Merlin Polzin said of Vieira and Nadir. He added: „Wir sind überhaupt keine Opfer und wir wollen uns in keine Opferrolle begeben“ – the team are not victims and do not want to adopt that role.
