Torino won their third straight Serie A game, beating Monza 3-2 on Friday night. Ignazio Abate's team moved to 13 points and climbed above city rival Juventus in the standings.

Kian Fitz-Jim put Torino ahead in the 39th minute before Gustavo Varela equalized for Monza shortly after halftime. Rafik Belghali made it 2-1 with a spectacular strike in the 61st, and Nikola Vlašić added a third soon after. An own goal by Torino's Patterson in stoppage time only narrowed the margin.

Ivan Jurić's Monza stay on seven points after the defeat.
