Jennifer Lopez turned the Los Angeles Opera's season opening on 17 October into an evening-wear moment. The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion staged Bizet's "Carmen", which also marked Domingo Hindoyan's first performances as the company's new music director. According to her stylist Mariel Haenn, Lopez wore Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda pieces from her personal collection.
The strapless black gown in semi-sheer chiffon had a deeply plunging neckline and lavish embroidery. Over it, Lopez wore a voluminous coat with colourful floral embroidery, black fringe and oversized brown fur trim at the collar and sleeves, with a turquoise satin lining showing as she moved. According to the Italian site DiLei, her necklace was set with blue diamonds and matched by drop earrings.
Lopez wore her hair in a low chignon with a centre part, two loose strands framing her face. On Instagram she captioned the photos simply "Night Out".
