Borussia Moenchengladbach travel to VfB Stuttgart for Friday's Bundesliga game (1830 GMT) without vice-captain Kevin Diks. The club confirmed to Kicker and Bild that the defender is absent for personal reasons rather than through injury.

That deepens the selection crisis for the bottom side: according to media reports, the club are without ten senior players in total, among them striker Tim Kleindienst.

Gladbach have lost all six of their league games this season. Another defeat in Stuttgart would make them the first Bundesliga club to start a season with seven straight losses.
