Private donors have given about $330 million for the new White House ballroom, according to a list published by The Washington Post, Democracy Now reported on Friday. Nvidia and Apple each gave $25 million and media group Comcast $7.5 million. Other donors include Amazon, Caterpillar, Microsoft, T-Mobile and several cryptocurrency companies.
Democracy Now headlined the donations as coming from donors who benefit from Trump's policies. According to the report, the donors also include the daughter of Venezuelan-born banker Julio Herrera Velutini, who was indicted in 2022 and pardoned by President Donald Trump in January; she pledged $2.5 million months before the pardon. The report did not include a White House response.
