'Guarding Stars': Leighton Meester protects Jared Padalecki in Netflix trailer

Netflix has released the trailer for the romantic comedy. Meester plays a bodyguard who poses as an action star's girlfriend. It premieres on Nov. 18.

Netflix has released the official trailer for 'Guarding Stars'. Leighton Meester ('Gossip Girl') plays bodyguard Hannah Brooks and Jared Padalecki ('Supernatural') plays Hollywood action star Jack Stapleton. Because Jack is being threatened by a stalker, Hannah is assigned to protect him – and poses as his girlfriend at his family's ranch so that his mother does not find out about the danger.

The fake relationship soon turns into real feelings. The comedy is based on Katherine Center's novel 'The Bodyguard'. It is directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum, who previously made 'Purple Hearts' for Netflix. Andie MacDowell plays Jack's mother, and singer Ava Max also appears.

'Guarding Stars' premieres on Netflix on Nov. 18, 2026.
