Belgian singer Angèle releases her third album 'Instinct' on October 16 – four years after 'Nonante-cinq'. The 13 songs were made at studios including ICP in Brussels, Electric Lady in New York and in southern France. Justice, SebastiAn, Soulwax and Caroline Polachek contributed; singles released in advance include 'Dis-le', 'Une seule vie' and 'Love Triangle'. The word 'instinct' served as her compass throughout the work, Angèle told the newspaper L'Avenir.
Belgian magazine Moustique calls the album bold but uneven: it moves between intimate piano ballads and dance-floor tracks, between French and English – and the whole sometimes lacks cohesion. Angèle is most moving when she uses less Auto-Tune and opens up. The review picks the Soulwax-produced 'Trop', 'Love Triangle' and the jazzy 'NYC Blues' as highlights.
A free concert on Brussels' Grand-Place has been announced for release day. Her two shows at Brussels' ING Arena on March 20 and 21, 2027 are already sold out, according to L'Avenir.
