Sasha Bühler becomes Head of German Originals at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios Germany on 1 December, US trade outlet Deadline reports. She succeeds Philip Pratt, who has joined Disney+ as Vice President, Original Production for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Bühler was most recently Netflix's Director of Film for German-speaking Europe and left the streamer this year; her successor there is Jan Bennemann. At Netflix she was involved in 'All Quiet on the Western Front' as well as 'Blood Red Sky', 'Army of Thieves', 'Exterritorial' and 'Brick'. Before that she spent more than a decade at Constantin Film as head of acquisitions and international co-productions, and was head of acquisitions at SquareOne Entertainment.
At Amazon, Bühler reports to Tara Erer, who oversees Northern European Originals as well as UK unscripted and film. According to Deadline, Erer highlighted Bühler's exceptionally strong relationships with filmmakers, actors and producers in Germany in an internal note.
