After losing his WBO rematch to Daniel Dubois, who stopped him in the second round at The O2 in London on Saturday, Fabio Wardley will first take a break. "Now is the time for him to enjoy a well-earned rest, to recover and consider his options," his manager Mike Ofo told Sky Sports. He expects Wardley to keep competing at the very highest level.
Promoter Frank Warren wants to steer Wardley back into world title contention and expects a warm-up fight first if he returns. "If he does come back, he'll want to fight for a title again. He's a former world champion," Warren said. "He's knocked over guys that have never been knocked over before."
According to Sky Sports, the other heavyweight titles are held by Murat Gassiev (WBA), Agit Kabayel (WBC) and Filip Hrgović (IBF); Fury and Joshua fight for the WBA 'super' title on December 11.
