The World Boxing Council (WBC) will hold its 64th annual convention at the Palacio Mundo Imperial in Acapulco, Mexico, from 8 to 13 November, according to the agenda reported by Fightnews.

The centrepiece is a session on mandatory fights, where promoters, managers and the Board of Governors set the official title defences in each division. A ratings committee will review the world rankings across 18 weight classes. There will also be seminars for ring officials and talks on nutrition, medicine and fighter-safety technology.

A gala and awards night is planned, along with visits by champions and legends to hospitals, community centres and gyms under the ‘WBC Cares’ programme. WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán criticised the falling standard of mandatory challengers in a column on 19 October.
