The Beatles Story in Liverpool is being relaunched on a much larger scale. As NME reported on 20 October, the attraction will move in 2028 from the Albert Dock to the former St Johns Market in the St Johns Shopping Centre, directly opposite Lime Street station. Across some 100,000 sq ft – more than four times its current size – visitors will spend several hours passing through landmarks including the Cavern, Abbey Road and Shea Stadium. The project is a partnership between Apple Corps and Universal Music Group.

The St Johns Beacon tower is also part of the plan, housing a Yellow Submarine-themed 360-degree viewing experience. Some sets and props will be recreated from Sam Mendes' four-film Beatles project, due in cinemas in April 2028.

"Liverpool was, and still is, music city," said Ringo Starr. Paul McCartney said: "It couldn't have happened without Liverpool." Apple Corps CEO Tom Greene wants to create a world-class destination comparable to Graceland or Dollywood. According to Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram, ticket money will also support the next generation of artists from the city.
