Cheavon Clarke and Chris Billam-Smith will meet on 7 November in the main event of ‘Zuffa Boxing 12’ at London's Copper Box Arena, Sky Sports reports. It is an all-British cruiserweight bout.
“I beat him twice, but I haven't got any hook-ups on it,” Clarke said of their amateur meetings. “We're professionals now and it's a new era.” Boxing, he added, is “not a tough person's sport. It's a smart person's sport”.
Billam-Smith recalled one of those defeats: “At the time I thought I had done enough to win it, but he's the aggressor, he hit me with some good shots.” It is hard to watch back, he said, “but also gives me that fire in the belly”.
