Jena Bishop is the PFL's first women's flyweight world champion. The 40-year-old American beat Liz Carmouche by unanimous decision in the PFL Chicago main event at Wintrust Arena on Friday night, with all three judges scoring it 48-47. Carmouche had knocked Bishop out in the third round of the 2025 World Tournament final.

Bishop was close to being finished in the first round: Carmouche hurt her with strikes and landed heavy shots both on the feet and on the ground. Bishop survived and worked her way back with takedowns and back control, attempting several rear-naked chokes in the third and fifth rounds. According to Cageside Press, Carmouche, who had her head shaved to make weight, appeared to slow from the fourth round on.

After the fight, Bishop referenced Carmouche's sparring anecdote, saying Carmouche had "made me cry again." In the cage she faced off with unbeaten Dakota Ditcheva (16-0), who knocked her out in the first round in August 2024. According to MMA Junkie and Cageside Press, the title fight between the two is expected in early 2027.
