Prada turns production leftovers into new knitwear: Re-Cashmere and Re-Wool

After Re-Nylon, Prada applies its recycling principle to cashmere and wool. Yarns spun from its own production leftovers are made into knitwear, trousers and jackets in Tuscany and Umbria.

With the autumn/winter 2026 season, Prada has introduced its Re-Cashmere and Re-Wool lines, extending the approach of its recycled Re-Nylon to natural fibres, RetailBoss and Culted reported. The raw material is waste from its own manufacturing: yarn residues, offcuts and unused fabrics, including from its knitwear site in Torgiano. The fibres are sorted by colour, which according to Culted removes the need for additional chemical dyeing, and then re-spun.

According to Culted, Re-Cashmere is made from 100 percent GRS-certified recycled cashmere. Re-Wool, according to RetailBoss, blends 50 percent virgin wool certified to the Responsible Wool Standard with 40 percent recycled wool and 10 percent recycled cashmere. Garments are made in workshops in Tuscany and Umbria, and quantities depend on the surplus material available. An NFC tag links each piece to the Aura Blockchain Consortium platform, which documents origin and processing.

According to its title, the embedded Prada video presents the two lines as a “new chapter” in circularity. Culted reports the pieces are available on Prada’s website and in selected boutiques.
