As the spring/summer 2027 fashion weeks wrap up, several trade outlets point to the same trend: lingerie that no longer stays hidden beneath clothing. According to an AFP analysis published by FashionUnited, bralettes appeared on the runways worn alone or under jackets, with the bra returning as a standalone top. Outlook Luxe lists "The Bra Becomes a Top" among the seven key Paris trends.
In Milan, Prada paired exposed bras with skirts, The Zoe Report noted, while it grouped Fendi and Blumarine under a vintage-inspired mix of slip dresses and sheer cover-ups. At Fendi, AFP reported, a black-embroidered satin triangle bra set the tone for much of the collection; Dolce & Gabbana combined lace with fur.
In Paris, Outlook Luxe cited Miu Miu, which layered sporty bralettes with technical pieces, as well as Balmain, Jean Paul Gaultier and Tom Ford. Who What Wear highlighted black lace and sheer fabrics at Ann Demeulemeester and see-through black at Ester Manas. In London, the label Dreaming Eli built its show around classic lingerie fabrics such as lace and satin, according to AFP.
