Germany coach Jurgen Klopp held an unusual news conference at the German football federation's (DFB) campus in Frankfurt on Wednesday, taking questions from nine- and ten-year-old players from youth sides SG Oberlahn and Sportfreunde Solderholz. The event marked the 100th edition of the DFB's "Der beste Tag" (The Best Day) initiative, launched in late summer 2022.
Klopp recounted an episode in Liverpool when a stranger sat in his living room eating sweets. "We had forgotten to lock the door," he said.
Noting that Germany's last World Cup title in 2014 came before the children were born, Klopp said: "That's why we have to make sure that you also get to celebrate what we got to celebrate."
