Unknown perpetrators damaged the display window of a coffee chain branch in Berlin’s Friedrichshain district overnight into Saturday, presumably with a stone. According to Berlin police, a patrol car crew discovered the damage at around 2:50 a.m. There was a hole in the window, and the stone was lying inside the shop. The window was temporarily secured with plastic sheeting.
Because a political motive cannot be ruled out, the state security division of the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation. Police did not say which chain was involved. There was initially no information on suspects or arrests; the investigation is ongoing.
