Olivia Rodrigo & Chappell Roan – 'expectations' remix: a game show with David Byrne

Single: expectations (feat. Chappell Roan)
Olivia Rodrigo released a remix of her song 'expectations' featuring Chappell Roan overnight into Friday (German time). According to Universal Music, it is Roan's first-ever feature. It was produced by Daniel Nigro, who works with both artists. The original comes from Rodrigo's third album 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love', which was released in June and debuted at No. 1 on the US album chart.
In the video directed by Bardia Zeinali, Rodrigo and Roan play different characters competing on the retro game show 'The Big Expectations Show', modelled on 80s and 90s formats. David Byrne of Talking Heads is the host, and Nigro makes a guest appearance. Rolling Stone calls the remix 'a vibrant rendition' and Byrne's appearance a 'delightful cameo'; Roan adds a new verse.
'I could tell she actually meant it, too. That's her magic,' Rodrigo told Rolling Stone about Roan, who opened for two of her tours. The remix is also out as a limited 7-inch single, CD and cassette. Rodrigo's Unraveled tour has been running since September; according to NME, eleven nights at London's O2 are scheduled between 5 April and 10 May 2027.
